No. CarbCue is an educational tool that gives an AI-assisted carb estimate and an illustrative absorption curve from a meal photo. It is not a dosing tool, not a CGM, and never replaces your care team's guidance.

How accurate are the carb estimates?

We run each meal through multiple AI models and surface a confidence rating. Real plates vary, so we always show you the per-item breakdown and let you edit anything before saving. Treat it as a fast second opinion, not a final number.

Does CarbCue replace a CGM or a pump?

No. CarbCue helps you estimate carbs from a photo. It doesn't measure blood glucose, deliver insulin, or talk to a pump. It sits alongside the gear you already use.

What does the absorption curve mean?

It's an illustrative shape — fast, moderate, or slow — based on the foods detected in the photo. It helps you anticipate the rise, but it is not a personalized glucose prediction.

How is my family's data handled?

Photos and meal data are stored privately to your account. We never sell your data, and you can delete entries (and your whole account) at any time from the iOS app.

Is CarbCue safe for kids?

CarbCue is designed for parents and caregivers. The account holder is the adult, and family profiles let you log meals on behalf of a child. We don't show ads to anyone.

It's a carb-estimation tool, so it works for any age. Most of our users are parents of school-age kids with Type 1 Diabetes, but it's just as useful for teens and adults managing T1D themselves.

Will it work for restaurant meals and mixed dishes?

It tries hard. Restaurant meals, casseroles, and saucy dishes are the toughest cases — the camera can't see what's underneath. We show our work item-by-item so you can correct anything that looks off.

Not yet. We're launching on iOS first to make the native camera and Sign in with Apple experience as good as we can. Android is on the roadmap.
